However, depending on the composition of the compost, noticeable odors reminiscent of roasted food can occur, especially during the hygienization process. This cannot always be avoided due to the temperatures required for hygienization.
If odors also occur, please check the following causes:
- First, check that the lid is properly fitted. A lid that doesn't close properly can cause odors to escape.

Check if the activated carbon cartridge is exhausted and needs to be replaced.

Check that the sealing screen of the activated carbon cartridge is correctly positioned. A damaged or incorrectly seated seal can cause odors to escape. Then make sure that the activated carbon cartridge is correctly inserted.
